McMinnville resident and Warren County native Almon Harold "Skinny" Bowdoin, age 73, was born August 17, 1932 and died January 21, 2006 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN following a brief illness. The retired owner of AAA Cab Company and a member of the Baptist Church, he served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was the son of the late Julius and Zona Parsley Bowdoin. He was married to Elsa Geneva Vaughn Bowdoin who preceded him in death March 2, 2001. He is survived by two sons, Terry Bowdoin of Texas and Derek Bowdoin of Tennessee; two daughters and son-in-law, Karen Bowdoin of McMinnville and Ge-Anne Bowdoin and Thomas Bolhuis of Calhoun, GA; three brothers, J.J., Billy, and James Bowdoin all of McMinnville; two sisters, Imojean Jacobs and Shirley Morton both of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service and interment was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2006 at Spring Hill Cemetery in White County, TN. Full military honors were administered by the Warren County Honor Guard.
