McMinnville resident and Warren County native Geneva Gladys Hobbs Britton, age 84, was born June 27, 1922 and died October 3, 2006 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following a two-year illness. A retired employee of the Levi Corporation and a member of the Assembly of God Church, she was the daughter of the late Hervy and Tennie Wanamaker Hobbs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Maxine Bouldin and two brothers, H.T. and Felson Hobbs. She was married July 16, 1945 to John Jackson Britton of McMinnville. In addition to her husband of sixty-one years, she is survived by two sons, Mike Britton of Corbin, KY and Jerry Britton of McMinnville; two daughters, Barbara Hale of Manchester, TN and Beverly Rogers of McMinnville; grandchildren, Jeff Rogers and Jeremy Britton both of McMinnville and Shane and Brian Britton of Kentucky; three great-grandchildren, Jeffery Rogers and Brian and Abbigail Britton and two brothers, Crawford and Clarence Hobbs both of Indiana. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2006 in High's Chapel with Danny Sullivan officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
