McMinnville resident and Warren County native Ruby "Jill" Holland Whiteaker Byrd, age 81, was born May 28, 1925 and died December 25, 2006 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A homemaker and self-employed hairstylist, she was a member of Shellsford Baptist Church and was the daughter of the late Claude and Jewel Walker Holland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Chester Holland and one sister Mattie Thompson. She was married to William Edward Byrd of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Janie Whiteaker Tenpenny of McMinnville; one son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Debbie Whiteaker of Parrish, FL; two granddaughters, Trina Burks and Kristi Tenpenny both of McMinnville; three grandsons, Tim Whiteaker and Marty Woodlee both of Texas and Joey Whiteaker of Florida; great-grandson, Dustin Walker of McMinnville; six brothers, Jack Holland, George Holland, Ronald Holland, and Doris Holland all of McMinnville, Donald Holland of Dover, TN and Earl Holland of Laverne, TN; three sisters, Annie Burbage and Joyce Whiteaker both of McMinnville and Johnnie Maxwell of Greenbrier, TN and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2006 in High's Chapel with Jackie Matheny and Willard Ralph, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Shellsford Cemetery.
