E.R. CORNETT

Rock Island, TN resident and Loudon, TN native E.R. "Roy" Cornett, age 90, was born October 7, 1915 and died April 7, 2006 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness.  A retired steamfitter and plumber with the Tennessee Valley Authority and a member of the Rock Island Presbyterian Church and Rock Island Masonic Lodge #452, he was a long time scout master with the Boy Scouts of America.  He was the son of the late Caswell Hall and Laura Ann Gaston Cornett.  He was married to Mary Alene Moon Cornett who preceded him in death March 3, 2000.  He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Caswell and Katherine Cornett and Mike and Christine Cornett both of Rock Island;  one daughter, Barbara Sue Cornett of Rock Island;  grandchildren, Tammy Cornett of Murfreesboro, TN and Steven and Tray Cornett both of Rock Island;  great-grandchildren, Meagan and Tiffany Cornett both of Rock Island.  Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006 in High's Chapel with Rev. Clifton Scott and Bethel Lewis officiating.  Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
