Leon CUNNINGHAM

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Leon Cunningham, age 70, was born August 13, 1935 and died January 29, 2006.  A self-employed nurseryman and a member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late James Claude and Hollie Clair Rogers Cunningham.  In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Cunningham;  three brothers, Fred, Roy, and Louie Eugene Cunningham and three sisters, Ollene Hale, Audrey Tucker, and Allie Mae Muncey.  He was married to Rosa Lee Simmons Cunningham of McMinnville who survives.  In addition to his wife he is survived by a sister, Mary Ellen Ware of McMinnville;  step-daughters, Jamie Appleman of Michigan, Sherrie Therell of Pikeville, TN, and Melinda Payne and Beth Cartwright both of Dunlap, TN;  two grandsons, Patrick Cunningham and Eric Cunningham both of McMinnville and eleven great grandchildren.  Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2006 in High's Chapel with George Roberts officiating.  Burial followed in the Hebron Cemetery.
