Audrey May Burks DAVENPORT

Morrison, TN resident and Warren County native Audrey May Burks Davenport, age 85, was born May 12, 1921 and died June 2, 2006 at River Park Hospital.  A retired retail sales clerk at Roses Department Store, a homemaker, and a member of Caney Branch The Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Charlie H. and Margie Hulett Burks.  She was married November 23, 1940 to Cecil Oren Davenport who preceded her in death December 5, 2003.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, LaShelle Bess;  two brothers, Granville and Dalton Burks;  sister, Eva Pistole;  two step-brothers, Coy and Robert Dennis and two step-sisters, Thelma Burks and Lois Herndon.  She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Kay Davenport and Wayne and Joyce Davenport all of Viola, TN;  daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Sam McLoud of Morrison, TN;  seven grandchildren, Amy Hopf, Marla Cantrell, Mark Bess, LeAnne Perry, and Matthew, Nedra, and Brad Davenport;  seven great-grandchildren;  sister, Iris Casey of Doyle, TN and brother, Loyd Burks of Morrison, TN.  Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2006 in High's Chapel with Bro. Kelly Lewis officiating.  Burial followed in the Caney Branch Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the or the .
