Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native Floyd Edward "Bear" Freeman, age 78, was born May 4, 1927 and died March 19, 2006 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired employee of Powermatic and a member of the New Hope Full Gospel Church, he was the son of the late Floyd Wilson and Fannie Elizabeth Simons Freeman. He was married to Mildred Ruth Scott who preceded him in death November 10, 1981. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Katie Lou Freeman and grandson, Jeremy Freeman. He is survived by six children and their spouses, Ella Mae and Donnie Jennings of McMinnville, Robert and Dorothy Freeman of Rock Island, Mike and Emily Freeman of McMinnville, Tony and Cathy Freeman of Hillsboro, TN, Ricky and Sandra Freeman of Smithville, TN, and Lynn and Judy Freeman of Rock Island, TN; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Polly and Clarence Roach of McMinnville and Ruth Stewart of Cookeville, TN. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006 in High's Chapel with Carl Crowe officiating. Burial followed in the Shellsford Cemetery.
