Sr., Jackie Clark HAYES

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native Jackie Clark Hayes, Sr., age 67, was born May 23, 1939 and died September 5, 2006 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness.  A heavy equipment operator for Custom Construction Company and a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Clyde B. and Pauline Lawrence Hayes.  He was married to Peggy May Geddings Hayes who preceded him in death March 17, 2006.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Imogene Smith and brother-in-law, Edward Smith.  He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Larry Avera of Woodbury, TN;  four sons and daughters-in-law, Carl Hayes of McMinnville, Steve and Amy Hayes of Rock Island, TN, Jackie and Sharon Hayes, Jr. of McMinnville and Travis and Samantha Hayes of Rock Island, TN;  fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2006 in High's Chapel with George Roberts officiating.  Burial followed in the Shellsford Cemetery.
