Peggy May HAYES

Rock Island, TN resident and Huntsville, AL native Peggy May Hayes, age 65, was born July 12, 1940 and died March 17, 2006 at River Park Hospital following a sudden illness.  A retired factory worker and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of Ruby Geddings of Elkmont, AL and the late Darris Geddings.  She was married to Jackie Clark Hayes, Sr. of McMinnville.  In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Larry Avera of Woodbury, TN;  four sons and daughters-in-law, Carl Hayes of McMinnville, Steve and Amy Hayes of Rock Island, Jackie and Sharon Hayes, Jr. of McMinnville and Travis and Samantha Hayes of Rock Island;  fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren;  two brothers, Richard and David Geddings both of Huntsville, AL and four sisters, Juanita Geddings , Dottie Clinard, and Linda Bagsby all of Huntsville, AL and Mary Frances Graves of Eugene, Oregon.  Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2006 in High's Chapel with Garvin Haley and George Roberts officiating.  Burial followed in the Shellsford Cemetery.
