Charlie Otha HERRIN

Rock Island, TN resident and DeKalb County, TN native Charlie Otha Herrin, age 79, was born October 8, 1926 and died May 29, 2006 at his residence.  A retired machine operator at Powermatic and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Warren F. and Martha Bell Steele Herrin.  He was married to June Iris Golden Herrin who preceded him in death January 7, 1996.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Herrin and sister, Frances Cantrell.  He is survived by one son, Charles Gary Herrin of McMinnville;  daughter, Brenda Horn of McMinnville;  four grandchildren, Nathan Herrin, Tonya Johnson, and Matthew and Timmy Horn;  seven brothers, Frank Herrin of the Irving College Community;  Jim, David, and Calvin Herrin all of the Vervilla Community, Don Herrin of McMinnville, Ned Herrin of the Short Mountain Community and Ben Herrin of Morrison, TN and three sisters, Armanda Burgess and Clara Nell Slatton both of McMinnville and Linda Farley of Morrison, TN.  Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2006 in High's Chapel.  Burial followed in the Bascom Cemetery.
