McMinnville resident and Maury County, TN native William Allen "Bill" Hill, age 80, was born October 27, 1925 and died July 26, 2006 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. The owner of Plateau Express Scrap Recycling and a member of Shellsford Baptist Church and Cumberland County Masonic Lodge, he was the son of the late William Kennon and Bertha Eilleen Edelman Hill. He was married to Josephine Gunnels Hill who preceded him in death August 23, 2000. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, William W. "Billy" Hill; daughter, Tina Darlene Hill; brothers, Marvin C., Edward "Bubba", and Glenn Hill; sister, Martha Dean Smith and former son-in-law, Jerry Crawford. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Hugh Stacey of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Paula Hill of Rock Island, TN; six grandchildren, Tracy Crawford, Kandi and Tim Barnes, Toby and Amanda Crawford, Brett Hill, Ashlyn Hill, and Logan Hill; six great-grandchildren, Luke, Camden, Layla and Olivia Crawford and Bailey and Brooke Barnes; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Bob Nail of Crossville, TN and Elizabeth and Albert Baisley of Tellico Lake, TN; sisters-in-law, Peggy Hill of Rockwood, TN, Jerry Cooper of Crossville, TN and Anna Mae Hill of Crossville, TN; mother-in-law, Mary Anna Gunnels of Crossville, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2006 in High's Chapel with Steve Breedlove and Mason Black officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
