Ralph Lindon HILLIS

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Ralph Lindon Hillis, age 82, was born July 15, 1924 and died December 19, 2006 at River Park Hospital following a three-month illness.  A retired line foreman with Caney Fork Electric Cooperative, a United States Army veteran of WWII and a member of the Pleasant Cove Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Charles and Leona Shockley Hillis.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Roberta Anderson and Rita Barrett.  He was married May 17, 1947 to Bonnie Lee Miller Hillis of McMinnville.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Ross Rains of McMinnville;  son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Dottie Hillis of McMinnville;  four grandchildren and their spouses, Heather and George Newman, Dano and Misti Hillis and Alissa Rains all of McMinnville and Amy and Michael Moody of Murfreesboro, TN;  two great-granddaughters, Shelby Newman and Kaylee Hillis both of McMinnville;  several nieces and nephews and special caregivers, Jeannie Heath, Wilma Smartt, Vida Fann and Jocelyne Ashford.  Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2006 in High's Chapel with Ray Weddington officiating.  Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.  Memorial contributions may be made to or the .
