McMinnville resident and Warren County native Billy Joe Johnson, age 65, was born December 22, 1940 and died May 26, 2006 at his residence following an extended illness. A truck driver for Batesville Casket Company for twenty-six years and the son of the late Noel and Louise Turner Johnson, he attended Way Of The Cross Baptist Church and Shiloh Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Thomas and niece, Ann Mayes. He was married August 10, 1984 to Elizabeth Byars Johnson of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Rickey Dickerson of McMinnville; step daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Joe Caldwell of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Jeremy Reno and Sabrina Caldwell both of McMinnville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Doris Wanamaker and Bobbie and Willie Mayes all of McMinnville; two nephews, Dr. Boyce Wanamaker of Columbia, TN and Gary Nunley of Huntsville, AL and three nieces and friend, Vicki Mayes and Barry Haston of McMinnville and Teresa Roberts and Marilyn Lamb both of Huntsville, AL. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 29, 2006 in High's Chapel with Ray Skyles and Dr. Boyce Wanamaker officiating. Burial followed in the Shiloh Cemetery.
