Alta Mae JONES

Woodbury, TN resident and Cannon County native Alta Mae Jones, age 74, was born November 20, 1931 and died April 2, 2006 at Raintree Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness.  A seamstress at Woodbury Shirt Factory and a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Archie Carson and Lola Katherine Thomas Youngblood.  She was married to Billy W. Jones, Sr. who preceded her in death July 15, 1995.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joel Ross Youngblood.  She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Rita Jones of McMinnville;  four grandchildren, Terah, Traci, Mark, and Cameron Jones all of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at the Pleasant View Church of Christ in Cannon County with Odell Powell officiating.  Burial followed in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
