Carmene JORDAN

June 20, 1916 — October 30, 2006

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Carmene Jordan, age 90, was born June 20, 1916 and died October 30, 2006 at River Park Hospital.  A retired educator with the Warren County School System, a WWII veteran of the United States Army, a member of the Retired Teachers Association, a member of the American Legion and member of the Bethany Church of Christ where she taught the Ladies Bible Class, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ambrose and Mary Effie Tenpenny Turner.  She was married to Warren Kelly Jordan who preceded her in death January 24, 1982.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Kate Deadman and Lucille McDonald and two brothers, Furm and Hack Turner.  She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Ava and Thorolf Gregersen of Morrison, TN and Kathy and Larry Grimes of Hermitage, TN and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Bethany Church of Christ with Denver Farley and Bill Boyce officiating.  Burial followed in the Bethany Cemetery with full military honors administered by the American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
