Dorothy Hillis KNIGHT

McMinnville resident and Grundy County, TN native Dorothy Hillis Knight, age 81, was born September 2, 1925 and died November 5, 2006 at Community Care of Rutherford County in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness.  A homemaker and a member of the Campaign Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Dixie Lockridge Hillis.  She was first married to Finis Jackson Turner who preceded her in death April 19, 1962 and married second to H.G. Knight who also preceded her in death.  In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye Dillard and Wilma Dunlap and brother, Jack Hillis.  She is survived by one daughter, Carlene Turner Henry of Murfreesboro, TN;  two sons and daughters-in-law, Finis Jackson Turner, Jr. and Chris and Dewey Wayne Turner and Chiquita both of Smyrna, TN;  brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Wanda Hillis of McMinnville;  six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.  A graveside service and interment was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at Mt. View Cemetery with Titus Ward officiating.
