Hubert Eugene LEWIS

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Hubert Eugene Lewis, age 71, was born September 18, 1934 and died March 21, 2006 at River Park Hospital following a sudden illness.  A retired supervisor at Burroughs-Ross-Colville and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Albert Herman and Afton Elizabeth Wilson Lewis.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Brady Lewis;  grandson, Dustin Chase Morton and brothers, James and Johnny Bill Lewis.  He is survived by two daughters, Sharon Shannon and Teresa Grissom both of McMinnville;  son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Nicola Lewis of McMinnville;  five grandchildren, John Lewis, Jessica Measles Davenport, Shanna Barrett, Tara Lewis, and Tyler Shannon;  three great-grandchildren, Devin Lewis, Ben Roller, and Chastity Barrett and sister, Geneva Wanamaker of McMinnville.  Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2006 in High's Chapel with Joe Nunley and Marion Ward officiating.  Burial followed in the Shiloh Cemetery.
