Vera Juanita LEWIS

McMinnville resident and Marion County, TN native Vera Juanita Lewis, age 83, was born June 27, 1923 and died October 27, 2006 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville.  A homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Baxter and Hessie Lee Frederick Carrick.  She was married to Dudley General Lewis who preceded her in death July 25, 2003.  She is survived by seven sons, Tony, Herman, and Dale Lewis all of McMinnville, Clay Lewis of Grundy County, TN, Manuel Lewis of the Centertown Community, James Lewis of Niota, TN and Darrell Lewis of Crossville, TN;  daughter, Linda Lewis of Clifton, TN;  several grandchildren and great-grandchildren;  brother, Benny Carrick of Tracy City, TN and three sisters, Lorene Shrum of Tracy City, TN, Grace Nunley and Sally Chastain of Cleveland, TN.  Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2006 in High's Chapel with Dal Barrett officiating.  Burial followed in the Gardens of Memory.
