McMinnville resident and Wayne County, Michigan native David Matthew Louria, Sr., age 67, was born October 4, 1939 and died February 17, 2006 at Raintree Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness. A retired automotive mechanic and a veteran of the United States Army, he attended the North Hills Church of God of Prophecy. He was the son of the late Alexander and Bernadette Louria. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one brother, Bernard Louria and a step-son , Timothy Mears. He was married to Violet Hood Louria of McMinnville. In addition to his wife he is also survived by his children, David Louria, Jr. of Knoxville, TN, Johnny Louria of Clinton, TN, Alex Louria of Florida, and Jamie Louria of Alabama; step-children, Joey Urban of McMinnville, Charles Holland of Austin, TX, Aleesha McCormick of McMinnville, Kristy Weeter of McMinnville and Kerry Hillis of Memphis, TN; several grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Joan Roberts of Flat Rock, Michigan, Janette Rodriquez of Lincoln Park, Michigan, Lee Louria of Lincoln Park, Michigan, Kathleen Kilpatrick of Tallahassee, FL, and Bernadane Krietner of Michigan and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2006 in High's Chapel with Michael Harris officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
