Lewis Denton MCBRIDE

May 27, 1931 — March 18, 2006

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Lewis Denton McBride, age 74, was born May 27, 1931 and died March 18, 2006 at River Park Hospital following a lingering illness.  A retired truck driver for Roadway Express where he received a four million mile safe driving award, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late George Franklin and Illa Elizabeth Hillis McBride.  He was married to Willa Faye Bailey McBride who preceded him in death September 26, 2002.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Willard McBride.  He is survived by four children, Lana Sharon Boyd, Ricky Alan McBride, Gregory Denton McBride, and Malcolm Chris McBride all of McMinnville;  two step-children, Gary Don Hunter of McMinnville and Debbie Sims of Trion, GA;  nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren;  two sisters, Dorothy Bishop and Mary Sue Clendenon both of McMinnville.  Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006 in High's Chapel with Gary Few and Denver Farley officiating.  Burial followed in the Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
