Joe B. McCoy

Spencer, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Joe B. McCoy, age 86, was born April 17, 1920 and died September 7, 2006 at Generations of Spencer following a two year illness.  A retired self-employed farmer, a United States Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late John Henry and Ella Lawson McCoy.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Joyce Pope and Patricia McCoy.  He is survived by three daughters, Rosanna Swoape of Quebeck, TN, Jackie Grissom of the Centertown Community, and Margaret Bolt of Marysville, OH;  two sons, Gary McCoy of Spencer, TN and Larry McCoy of Sparta, TN;  ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren and sister, Lodemia Cummings of Murfreesboro, TN.  A graveside service and interment was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2006 at Laurel Creek Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN with Roy Terry officiating.
