Raymond Oscar Miller, member of the First United Methodist Church, was born November 22, 1924 to Annette and Oscar Miller in Brooklyn, New York. He is survived by his wife Margaret; sons, Richard and John; daughters-in-law, Elizabeth and Angela; three granddaughters, Anne Marie Morris, Laura Beth Miller, and Caitlin Miller and one great-grandson, Hampton Miller Morris. He was proud of his service as a fighter pilot, stationed on Iwo Jima, flying his beloved Mustang P-51 in World War II. After the war was over he attended the University of Illinois where he was graduated, met and married his wife, Margaret. Over the years he was employed in industry and finished his career as plant manager of DeZurik. He had a generous spirit and worked for his church and many community projects chief among which was Meals on Wheels. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2006 in High's Chapel with Rev. Bob Case and Dr. Steve Angus officiating. Burial followed in the Viola Cemetery.
