Mildred Cora Mai POPE

Spring Arbor, Michigan resident and Belton, Texas native Mildred Cora Mai Pope, age 99, was born May 17, 1907 and went to be with her Lord October 28, 2006 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living.  A homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hazel Park, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late James Travis and Mary York Green.  She was married to Darius Samuel Pope who preceded her in death October 22, 1995.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, A.C. Green.  She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Bill Bippes of Concord, Michigan, Queta and Ron Shaw of Buford, Georgia, and Treva Smith of Chesterville, Michigan;  two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Jan Pope of Hudson, Florida and David T. and Alicia Pope of Atlanta, Georgia;  eleven grandchildren;  five great-grandchildren and sister, Lorene Peden of Frankfort, Kentucky.  A graveside service and interment was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2006 at Mt. Vernon Cemetery with Jeff Shaw officiating.
