McMinnville resident and Davidson County, TN native James Anderson Potts, age 78, was born October 30, 1927 and died February 22, 2006 at his residence after a sudden illness. A water testing and maintenance employee of Warren County and a member of the North Hills Church of God of Prophecy, he served his country as a Merchant Marine. He was the son of the late Allen H. and Vadie Hampton Potts. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two children, Ellis Alan Potts and Lucretia Dolzonek. He is survived by three daughters, Valarie Feagle of Fort White, FL, Dorene Cowans of Morrison, TN, and Vanessa McBride of McMinnville; son, Dellis Potts of Morrisville, NC; sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Houston Potts of Atlanta, GA and Lloyd Potts of Detroit, Michigan. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006 at the North Hills Church of God of Prophecy with Bro. Michael Harris officiating. Burial followed in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville, TN at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
