James Russell RAMSEY

McMinnville resident and Warren County native James Russell Ramsey, age 66, was born October 29, 1939 and died June 1, 2006 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness.  A shop foreman for Shelton Automotive and a member of the East End Drive Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Doris and Sally Mae Locke Ramsey.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Ramsey McGee and Helen Ramsey Smith.  He was married July 27, 1959 to Dorothy Louise Wood Ramsey of McMinnville.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children and their spouses, James F. and Jackie Ramsey, Tina Ramsey, Mary Ramsey, and Stan and Shawnda Ramsey all of McMinnville and Sylvia Dillard of Murfreesboro;  nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild;  five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Nannie Martin, Virginia Woodard, and Mary Cope all of McMinnville and Johnnie and Louis Blevins and Linda and Abraham Butts both of Detroit, Michigan;  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.  Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2006 in High's Chapel with Bro. Phillip Smith, Jr. officiating.  Burial followed in the Bethlehem Cemetery at Martin Charge.
