Carl RIGSBY

Murfreesboro, TN resident and Albany, AL native Carl Rigsby, age 87, was born December 17, 1918 and died August 3, 2006 at Alvin C. York V.A. Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN following a brief illness.  He was a former resident of McMinnville.  A retired employee of Carrier Corporation, a United States Army veteran of WWII and a member of the First Church of God, he was the son of the late Ernest Holliday and Martha Duncan Rigsby.  He was married to Nancy Elois "Nannie" Barnes who preceded him in death June 21, 2004.  He is survived by one son, Alvin Rigsby of Murfreesboro, TN;  four grandchildren and one great-grandchild;  two brothers, Omer Rigsby of Tallahassee, FL and Elston Rigsby of McMinnville and two sisters, Billie Laws and Reta Lentz both of McMinnville.  Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2006 in High's Chapel with Rex Boles officiating.  Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
