Betty Cummings SPURLOCK

Doyle, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Betty Cummings Spurlock, age 84, was born May 16, 1921 and died February 22, 2006 at River Park Hospital following a six week illness.  A housekeeper and a member of the East End Drive Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Etta Sparkman Cummings.  She was first married to the late Charles H. Locke and married second to the late Charles Spurlock.  In addition to her husbands and parents she was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Mary Allen Spurlock and a brother, Clarence Sparkman.  She is survived by several cousins;  one step-daughter, Charlesetta Spurlock of Cincinnati, OH and very good friends, David Cook, Nancy Officer Hancock, and Mr. and Mrs. Doris Duke.  Funeral service was held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006 in High's Chapel with Bro. Phillip Smith, Jr. officiating.  Burial followed in the Sparkman Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
