Michael Sribney, Ph.D., age 79, died May 24, 2006 at the Kingston General Hospital in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He was the beloved husband of Jane Brady, who was also loved by his children, Carol and Bill; daughter-in-law, Laurie and his grandchildren, Matthew, Aaron, Cecilia, and Adam. He is survived by his sister, Tillie and brothers, Steve, Walter, and Emil. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Jane Parker; father, John; mother, Tekla; sister, Pearl, and brother, John. Michael was born on February 5, 1927 on a farm in Northern Valley, Alberta. He received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Alberta in 1952, his master's degree in chemistry from McMaster University in 1953, and his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Chicago in 1957. He was a professor of biochemistry at Queens University from 1968 to 1992. A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2006 at First Presbyterian Church with Andy Gay officiating. Inurnment followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
