McMinnville resident and Warren County native James Edward Stubblefield, age 79, was born May 11, 1927 and died October 29, 2006 at his residence follwing an extended illness. He was the sole proprietor and operator of Stubblefield Upholstery for forty years, a member of the West Riverside Church of Christ where he was a former deacon and the son of the late Mack P. and Annie Barnes Stubblefield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Sammy Edward Stubblefield; brothers, Glenn, Kenneth and Charles Stubblefield and sisters, Edith Medley and Roberta Robertson. He was married December 25, 1953 to Ruth G. Bouldin Stubblefield of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Michael Laverne Stubblefield of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Brandon and Justin Stubblefield and their mother Kathy; brother, Hugh Stubblefield of McMinnville; sister, Judie Woodlee of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2006 in High's Chapel with Wayne Stubblefield and Raymond Curtis officiating. Burial followed in the Armstrong Cemetery.
