Rock Island, TN resident and Lincoln County, TN native James Madison Taylor, Jr., age 68, was born May 16, 1937 and died January 9, 2006 at his residence following an extended illness. A truck driver with Batesville Casket Company and a member of Friendship The Baptist Church, he was the son of the late James Madison Taylor, Sr. and the late Retha Mae Ashby Taylor. He was married to Juanita Lusk Taylor of Rock Island, TN who survives. In addition to his wife he is survived by eight children and their spouses, 1st Sgt. U.S. Army Retired James R. and Peggie Taylor of Clarksville, TN, Patricia A. and James Melvin Thomas of Fayetteville, TN, Deborah and Rodney Douglas of Christiana, TN, Mst. Sgt. U.S. Air Force Steven and Regina Taylor of Montgomery, AL, Michael Byron and Henrietta Tubbs of Memphis, TN, Ricky Allen Tubbs of Sparta, TN, and Patricia D. Pickett and James and Gericia Taylor, III both of Rock Island, TN; eighteen grandchildren, Lucretia, Nicholas, James R., Zachary, Reggie, and Steven Taylor, Jr., Jamel Bozeman, Grover and Alicia Baity, Shanita Hall, Erica, Ashley, Shelbie, Briana, and Ricky Allen Tubbs, II, Rodney Douglas, II, James Trace and Tyler James Taylor; thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2006 at Friendship The Baptist Church with Steve Breedlove officiating. Burial followed in the Gardens of Memory.
