Billie Jean VINSON

April 8, 1934 — July 6, 2006

Spencer, TN resident and Warren County native Billie Jean Vinson, age 72, was born April 8, 1934 and died July 6, 2006 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.  A former employee of Century Electric and a member of the Grange Hall Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Willie Delbert and Virgie Elrod Smith, Sr.  She was married to Randolph Vinson who preceded her in death February 10, 1998.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clayton and Paul Smith and one sister, Bonita Hudson.  She is survived by four children and their spouses, Loreatha Diana Jaco of McMinnville, Larry Austin and Cynthia Ann Walls of Rock Island, TN, Derek Halfacre and Patty Smartt of Palmer, TN, and Wesley Eugene and Martha Diana Becker of McMinnville;  seven grandchildren, Erica Jean Martin of Knoxville, IA, Jennifer Ann Foster of Bristol, TN, Shawn Steven Jaco of McMinnville, Charles Oliver Walls and Christopher Nelson Walls both of Rock Island, TN, Brian Edward Halfacre and Rebecca Jean Becker of McMinnville;  seven great-grandchildren, Ridge Allen, Alexis Diana, Taylor Lynn, and Emily Ann Jaco and Tara Lynn, Tyler James, and Damon Austin Martin;  three brothers, James Isaac Smith of Valdosta, GA, Willie D. Smith, Jr. of Middletown, IA, and Charles David Smith of Morrison, TN;  brother-in-law, Jimmy Hudson of McMinnville, TN and several nieces and nephews.  Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2006 in High's Chapel.  Burial followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
