A.J. WANAMAKER

McMinnville resident and Grundy County, TN native A.J. Wanamaker, age 76, was born December 21, 1929 and died March 9, 2006 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness.  A logger, a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War, and a member of the Irving College Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Aubrey and Melissa Smartt Wanamaker.  He was married May 1, 1954 to Maxine Dykes Wanamaker of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children and their spouses, Teddy and Teressia Wanamaker of Crossville, TN, Jim and Linda Wanamaker of McMinnville and Phoebe and David Owenby of Chesterfield, MO;  six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren;  two sisters, Gladys Mansberry and Shirley Wanamaker both of McMinnville;  two brothers, L.C. Wanamaker of McMinnville and Lynnel Wanamaker of Beersheba Springs, TN and two nieces, Sheila and Roberta.  Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2006 in High's Chapel with Rev. Paul Gunn officiating.  Burial followed in the Philadelphia Cemetery in Grundy County, TN.
