E.L. WHITWORTH

Laurelburg Community (Van Buren County, TN) resident and Warren County native E.L. Whitworth, age 85, was born June 12, 1921 and died November 8, 2006 at River Park Hospital.  A self-employed farmer and a member of the Church of Christ at Campaign, he was the son of the late John Floyd and Josephine "Josie" Mayfield Whitworth.  He was married June 5, 1943 to Faye Jacqueline Moody Whitworth who preceded him in death February 17, 2006.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd Junior Whitworth and Harold Wayne Whitworth and nephew, Peter Hillis.  He is survived by six sisters, Laura May Gibbs and Lillie Smith both of McMinnville, Deamie Moody and Jenny Hillis both of Rock Island, TN, Lorena Snider of Indiana and Joyce Glover of Baldwin Park, CA;  two brothers, Joe Whitworth of Quebeck, TN and Benny Whitworth of Spencer, TN and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  Funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2006 in High's Chapel with Titus Ward officiating.  Burial followed in the Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
