R.L. YATES

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native R.L. Yates, age 59, was born January 2, 1947 and died August 29, 2006 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness.  He was a construction worker and the son of the late Robert Franklin and Hallie Wheeler Yates.  He was married to Norma Jean Brock Yates who preceded him in death.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Ray Deen Priest.  He is survived by two daughters, Vickie Yates and Cynthia Yates both of Rock Island, TN;  three sons, Robert Lee Yates, Jimmy Lynn Yates, and Marcus Wayne Yates all of McMinnville;  nine grandchildren and one sister, Doris Priest of McMinnville.  A graveside service and interment was held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2006 at Walling Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
