Murfreesboro, TN resident and Warren County native Dorothy Lenora Bridges, age 86, was born July 10, 1921 and died November 3, 2007 at Adams Place Healthcare in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Ivar Hackett and Ollie Mai Coppinger Hillis. Mrs. Bridges was a long-time resident of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida working in Social services for the state for over twenty years. She was a graduate of Peabody College and was active in the D.A.R., U.D.C. and was a member of the Church By The Sea in Ft. Lauderdale. She was married to Garnett Ewing Bridges who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Waymon Hillis; two sisters, Leola McCollum and Edith Bryan and grandson Michael Thomas Bridges. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Hillis and Una J. Bridges of Cooper City, FL, Barry and Jo Ellen Bridges and Garnett Ewing Bridges, III both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Charles Ronald and Susan J. Bridges of Niceville, FL; five grandchildren, Rory Martin Duffy Bridges, Melissa Marie Bridges, Rebecca Jo Bridges, Rachel J. Trynoski and William Douglas Bridges and one great-granddaughter, Isabell Trynoski. A graveside service and interment was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Mt. View Cemetery with Dr. Steve Angus officiating.
