Alton May BURBAGE

Franklin, TN resident and DeKalb County, TN native Alton May Burbage, age 86, was born December 23, 1920 and died January 8, 2007 at Bethany Healthcare in Nashville, TN following a brief illness. A retired employee of Mary's Greenhouse, a member of First Baptist Church in Franklin, TN and former member of Gath Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Joseph McKinley and Clara Hale Smith. She was married to Ralph B. Burbage who preceded her in death in 1979. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Parker, Connie Rankhorn and Jimmie Hunter. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Ralph Edward Burbage of Pennsylvania and Kenneth and Sharon Burbage of Franklin, TN; two grandchildren, Claudine Weddington of Pennsylvania and Kenneth Burbage of Ohio; brother, Joe Smith of Maryland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2007 in High's Chapel with Phil Dougan officiating. Burial followed in the Gath Cemetery.
