James Clark BUTCHER

September 25, 1945 — January 11, 2007

McMinnville resident and Warren County native James Clark Butcher, age 61, was born September 25, 1945 and died January 11, 2007 at the V.A. Hospital in Nashville, TN following a four-month illness. He was a brick mason, a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, attended the Church of Christ and was the son of the late Howard Foster and Minnie Irene Dodson Butcher. He is survived by his companion, Ada Josephine Butcher of McMinnville; daughter, Bridgett Valenta of Bradenton, FL; son, James Howard Butcher of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Brook Valenta, Bailey Butcher, Hope Valenta and Ricki Valenta; two step-grandchildren, Gary and Tia Tate; three brothers, Bud, Bill and Willard Butcher all of McMinnville; two sisters, Jean Anderson of Murfreesboro, TN and Brenda Perry of Beersheba Springs, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2007 in High's Chapel with Gary Newby officiating. Burial followed in the Smyrna Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
