McMinnville resident and Welch, WV native Deborah Lynn Cherry, age 48, was born August 3, 1959 and died November 18, 2007 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness. An employee of Findlay Industries and a member of the Campaign Church of God of Prophecy, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Joyce Eileen Trent Ferrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Fred T. Ferrell; niece, Cynthia L.A. Ferrell; sister, Wilma Atnip and adopted father, Edgar "Pa" Caten. She was married January 11, 1986 to Gary Wayne Cherry of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Lynette Eileen and Jake Hawkins of Grand Forks, ND; son and daughter-in-law, Jared Wayne and Holly Cherry of McMinnville; grandson, Brian Gabrielle Storm Hawkins of Grand Forks, ND; two sisters, Nina Mae Gonzalez of Texas and Wilma Fay Johnson of Muddy Pond, TN; brother and sister-in-law, George Ricky Allen and Laura Ferrell; adopted mother, Stella "Ma" Caten of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Rose Caten of McMinnville; brother-in-law, Bruce Atnip of McMinnville; nephew, Joshua Caten; special nieces, Telia Cherry and Shayla McClure; great-nephew, Hayven Jones; sister, Janet Watson of McMinnville; special friend, "Brandy" and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service was held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2007 at the Campaign Church of God of Prophecy with Vernon Caruthers officiating.
