Nettie Mai CLEMONS

McMinnville resident and Grundy County, TN native Nettie Mae Clemons, age 100, was born December 28, 1906 and died September 5, 2007 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville. A homemaker and a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late James Nelson "Jim" and Mary Elizabeth Savage Hobbs. She was married to Thomas Lee Clemons who preceded her in death in February of 1984. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Lannie Clemons; four grandchildren and three daughters-in-law, Lillie, Katherine and Nettie Clemons. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Avie Clemons, J.C. Clemons and Mertie Clemons all of McMinnville; grandchildren and their spouses, Lois Kimbrough of Starksville, MI, Phillip and Carolyn Clemons and Linda and Ronnie Hamilton both of McMinnville and Stephanie and David McColloch and Sonia and Jason Vandagriff both of Viola, TN; six great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2007 at Smyrna Church of Christ with Tim Parish and Tony Lawrence officiating. Burial followed in the Smyrna Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Smyrna Cemetery.
