Hozene McCormick COPENHAVER

Rock Island, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Hozene McCormick Copenhaver, age 79, was born July 13, 1927 and died May 3, 2007 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following a brief illness. A retired cook at Eastside Elementary School and a member of the Pine Bluff and Union Methodist Churches, she was the daughter of the late Hosea and Anna Shockley McCormick. She was married to John Franklin Copenhaver who preceded her in death September 5, 1996. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mollie Copenhaver Cope and two brothers, Amos and Remus McCormack. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ray McCay of O'Fallon, MO; two grandchildren, Brent McCay of Nashville, TN and Ryan McCay of O'Fallon, MO; sister, Anna Mae Dishman of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Jewell McCormick of Rock Island, TN; two sisters-in-law, Lula Mae McCormack and Nina McCormack both of McMinnville and seven half-brothers and half-sisters, Virginia Hindreck of Bowling Green, KY, Carolyn Williams of McMinnville, Sonny McCormack of Asheville, NC, Sarah Bonner of Washington, and Billy McCormack, Sally Flatt and Glenda Holland all of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2007 in High's Chapel. Burial followed in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
