McMinnville resident and Warren County native Thomas Landon "T.L." "Red" Coppinger, age 90, was born July 2, 1917 and died October 30, 2007 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following a lingering illness. A mechanic at Shelton's Automotive, a United States Army veteran of WWII and a member of the Shiloh United Methodist church for over seventy-five years, he was the son of the late Arthur Sewell and Mable S. Barnes Coppinger, Sr. He was married to Amy Irene Wimberly Coppinger who preceded him in death in 1993. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter and son-in-law, Margarett and Charlie Lance and brother, Jr. Coppinger. He is survived by two grandchildren and their spouses, Amy and William Lyle of Morrison, TN and Chuck and Joely Lance of McMinnville; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Elkins and Landon Lance of McMinnville and Alesha Lyle Morrison, TN; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James Winfred and Marie Coppinger of San Diego, CA and Phillip and Dephene Coppinger of Beech Grove, TN; sister, Sara Elizabeth Coppinger of El Paso, TX and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 1, 2007 in High's Chapel with Carl Crawford officiating. Burial followed in the Armstrong Cemetery.
