Manchester, TN resident and Warren County native Morris Ray Cox, age 66, was born December 13, 1940 and died June 1, 2007 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. A retired maintenance worker at Batesville Casket Company, a United States Air Force veteran and a member of the Pelham Valley Church of God of Prophecy, he was the son of the late William Nathan and Georgia Pearl Stewart Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Darrell Ray Cox and brother, Jimmy Darrell Cox. He was married April 9, 1960 to Edith Faye Cothren Cox of Manchester, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, William Roy and Sandy Cox and Timothy Dwight Cox both of Manchester, TN; four grandchildren, Natasha Summers, Daryl Cox, Misty Cox and Zachary Cox all of Manchester, TN; great-grandson, Braedon Steward of Manchester, TN; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Bessie Cox of Rock Island, TN, Tommy and Joanne Cox of the Centertown Community and Donnie and Leona Cox of McMinnville; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Lynn Simmons of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2007 in High's Chapel with John Cox and Carl Bouldin officiating. Burial followed in the Faulkner Cemetery at Pike Hill.
