George Philip DAVIS

McMinnville resident and Green Forest, AR native George Philip Davis, age 84, was born February 5, 1923 and died March 16, 2007 at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga, TN following a sudden illness. A retired plant superintendent with Avalon Dairy and Cheese Company and a member of the Bybee Branch Church of Christ, he was the son of the late St. Elmer and Linnie Stoud Davis. He was married May 31, 1946 to Lotus Deckard Davis who preceded him in death in 1965. He is survived by one daughter, Thala Davis of Atlanta, GA; son, Jerry Davis of McMinnville; four brothers, Noel Davis of Springfield, MO, Paul Davis of Morrison, TN, Frank Davis of Lowell, AR and Leo Davis of McMinnville and fourteen nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2007 in High's Chapel with Tony Lawrence officiating. Burial followed in the Morrison Cemetery.
