Dellie Pauline DELONG

Rock Island, TN resident and Alabama native Dellie Pauline Delong, age 83, was born March 13, 1924 and died March 27, 2007 at River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. A retired employee of Spencer Shirt Co. and a member of the Harmony Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Mary Elizabeth Moss Bishop. She was married to Thomas Wilburn Delong, Sr. who preceded her in death June 26, 1992. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ann Delong. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Wilburn and Phyllis Delong, Jr. of the Rocky River Community, Barry and Reba Delong of Van Buren County, TN and Rickey Delong and Paul and Connie Delong both of Rock Island, TN; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nelda and Willie Pierse of Rock Island, TN and Karla and Charles Lee of Spencer, TN; twenty-one grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Bishop of Alabama and Robert Bishop of Detroit, MI; two sisters, Ruby Bishop of Akron, OH and Lourine Rice of Cookeville, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 in High's Chapel with Marion Ward officiating. Burial followed in the Long Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
