SR., James R. EATON

McMinnville resident and Warren County native James R. Eaton, Sr., age 79, was born September 11, 1927 and died September 6, 2007 at River Park Hospital following a one-month illness. A self-employed truck operator, a United States Navy veteran of WWII and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Clyde and Ruby Justice Eaton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, James R. "Jim" Eaton, Jr.; brother, Thomas E. Eaton and sister, Mary Frances Hobbs. He was married to Eloise Dunn Eaton of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Cathy Eaton of Collierville, TN, Jeff and Lisa Eaton of McMinnville and Jack and Sue Eaton of Siloam Springs, AR; daughter and son-in-law, Jane Ann and Kenny Pryor of McMinnville; daughter-in-law, Deborah Haas Eaton of San Diego, CA; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy Swann of Viola, TN and Sarah and Asa Kell and Shirley and Jerry Bost both of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007 in High's Chapel. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery with full military honors administered by the American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
