Sepal Jean Boren EMBERTON

McMinnville resident and Cannon County, TN native Sepal Jean Boren Emberton, age 83, was born September 3, 1923 and died May 19, 2007 at River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. The retired owner of Boren Jewelry and member of Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Nollie Oscar and Hettie Lee Campbell Harrell. She was first married to Charles Boren who preceded her in death May 14, 1994. Jean served her country during WWII by working in the military manufacturing plants in Detroit, MI. She was a "Rosie the Riveter" at Cadillac, where she riveted the fuselages of military aircraft. She also polished crank shafts for the B-17 Flying Fortress at Burroughs Manufacturing. In 1973, Charles and Jean fulfilled a lifelong family dream by returning to their home in Tennessee and opening a family business, Boren Jewelry, which was in operation until 1998. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Norma Charlene Boren and brother, Glenn Harrell. She was married second to C.H. Emberton of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Homer Perry of Crystal River, FL and Glenna and David Godwin and Carolyn and Phillip Clemons both of McMinnville; five grandchildren; sister, Mary Pauline Jones of Woodbury, TN and three brothers, Howard Harrell and Sterling Harrell both of Murfreesboro, TN and Russell Harrell of Lawrenceville, GA. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2007 in High's Chapel with Tim Parish officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
