Jessie Roberta Hodges GRIBBLE

January 26, 1920 — July 25, 2007

Rock Island, TN resident and Hamilton County, TN native Jessie Roberta Hodges Gribble, age 87, was born January 26, 1920 and died July 25, 2007 at her residence following an extended illness. A retired employee of McMinnville Garment Company and a member of the Mt. View Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Julia Martin Hodges. She was married in 1939 to Jewell Robinson Gribble who preceded her in death August 18, 1974. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anderson and Louise Gribble; sisters, Hazel McCormick, Ernestine Oneal, Ruby Hodges and Vera Morgan and brother, Jimmy Hodges. She is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby Jewell Gribble of Bone Cave, TN, Ernest Wayne Gribble of Panama and Larry Anderson and Tammie Gribble of Rock Island, TN; five grandchildren, Dale Gribble of Bone Cave, TN, Heath Gribble and Jason Gribble both of Atlanta, GA, Beth Fitch of McMinnville and Mary Beth Gribble of Knoxville, TN; great-grandson, Dominique Gribble of Panama; two sisters, Polly Woodlee of McMinnville and Opal Reagan of Michigan and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the Mt. View Church of Christ with Chuck Mullican and Joe Solomon officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery on Hwy. 30. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High's.
