Belk Community resident and DeKalb County, TN native William Bernard Hash, age 78, was born April 17, 1929 and died June 5, 2007 at Alive Hospice @ St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN. The co-owner and founder of Hash's Corner where he was a butcher/meat cutter and a United States Army Veteran of WWII, he was the son of the late William Thomas and Sallie Euther Walker Hash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Clifford Hash; sister, Bernice Hobbs and brother, G.C. Hash. He was married June 1, 1964 to Roberta Yeslow Hash of Rock Island, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Brad M. Kaplan and one daughter, Starla Ann Hash both of the Belk Community; step-daughter, Bernadetta Hodges of Florida; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Nettles of Michigan; brother, Orville Hash of Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews.
