McMinnville resident and Warren County native Ralph Burger Higginbotham, age 93, was born June 30, 1913 and died June 8, 2007 at Raintree Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness. A retired supervisor at Burroughs-Ross-Colville Company and a life-long member of the Methodist Church, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Mary Della Massie Higginbotham. He was born and raised on the Higginbotham family farm in the McCollum Bend of the Collins River. He was a charter member of Moss Chapel Methodist Church and presently a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He was married December 5, 1936 to Nellie Ruth Goodwin who preceded him in death January 7, 2005. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one infant daughter and two infant sons; grandson, Michael Hennessee; son-in-law, Billy J. Hennessee; three brothers, Clarence, William and Harold Higginbotham and three sisters, Winnie Higginbotham, Florence Couch and Eva Mayfield. He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Sue Hennessee of Columbia, TN and Carolyn and David M. McCarroll of Murfreesboro, TN; granddaughters and their husbands, Elizabeth and David Gibson of Franklin, TN, Martha and Joe Moss of Brentwood, TN and Kate McCarroll of Washington D.C.; great-grandsons and their wives, Michael and Andrea Hennessee of Franklin, TN and Chase and Sean Moss of Brentwood, TN; great-granddaughters and their husbands, Annie and Branden Glenn, April Gibson and Allyson and Nathan Gonzalez all of Franklin, TN; step-granddaughter, Kim Moss of Nashville, TN; great-great-grandchildren, Tristan and Issac Glenn, Taylor, Carlee and Michael Gauge Hennessee and Ezra Gonzalez all of Franklin, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2007 in High's Chapel with Mark Carrigan officiating. Burial followed in the New Union Cemetery on Hwy. 30 in McMinnville.
