SR., Dorris V. JOINES

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Dorris V. Joines, Sr., age 74, was born May 1, 1933 and died August 22, 2007 at Alvin C. York V.A. Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness. A retired employee of Genesco and Findley and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Orvel Clayton and Dillie White Elkins Joines. He was married to Hallie June Hale Joines who preceded him in death April 13, 1999. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dorris and Lisa Joines, Jr. of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Mark Christopher Joines and Rachel Elisabeth Joines; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Opal and Joe Woodside of the Vervilla Community and Dorothy and Raymond Curtis of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Ruby Joines of McMinnville; two sisters-in-law, Jane Ann Hale of McMinnville and Ruth Grizzell of Oak Ridge, TN and two brothers-in-law, John Hale of McMinnville and Nathan Hale of Murfreesboro, TN. A graveside service and interment was held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Gath Cemetery with Vernon Joines officiating. Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Thursday at High's.
